Update: Marlboro County Sheriff's, South Carolina Concedes Legality Of STOPNOW Patrols: "They Can Come Here.. They Can Walk Our Streets."

"Our foundation is equally grateful for McColl residents who have currently contacted us to join the community support & safety patrols, as the community continues to heal & move forward.

As a clarification - The foundation, while already privy to the legality of our patrols, do equally understand, as outlined in the founding tenets for our STOPNOW Patrol national program, that patrol members are volunteers & do not desire nor assume law enforcement authorities.. Additionally, we do need to sadly remind the Sheriff, who has claimed "no safety," incidents at local schools, of the incident within the lockdown incident last week involving a student with a gun:

We will continue in our commitment and have in fact, requested Governor McMaster's Office to intervene on an ongoing basis to ensure the safety of the community and most especially its most vulnerable residents - Its students, Its youth..."
